Chapursan Valley Air Tour Package - 3 Day Family & Couple Trip

Want to explore a side of Hunza that most travellers never reach? Our 3-day Chapursan Valley tour by air from Islamabad is ideal for adventurous couples, small groups, photographers and curious travellers who enjoy quiet mountain valleys, local culture and places far from busy tourist routes.

Your journey starts with a flight from Islamabad to Gilgit, skipping the long drive to northern Pakistan. From Gilgit, you continue by road through the mountains to Upper Hunza. The rest of the adventure is by road, including the journey to Khunjerab Pass and onward to remote Chupursan Valley. Please note that this is not a fully air-based tour: reaching Chapursan requires long drives on mountain roads.

Located beyond Sost in remote Upper Hunza, Chapursan Valley is known for its rugged mountain scenery, traditional Wakhi communities and peaceful village life. A visit to Baba Ghundi Shrine, an important spiritual site in the valley, offers a cultural experience away from the usual tourist crowds. If you have already explored Hunzaโ€™s popular attractions and want to venture further, this trip introduces you to a quieter and less-visited part of Gilgit-Baltistan.

At Pakistan Tour and Travel, we specialise in organising trips to Pakistanโ€™s remote valleys. Our team carefully plans transport, accommodation and travel arrangements to make challenging mountain journeys as comfortable as local conditions allow. We aim to arrange welcoming stays where you can rest after a long day on the road, so you return home with good memories rather than feeling completely worn out.

Choose this tour if you enjoy authentic local experiences, dramatic mountain landscapes and the adventure of reaching remote places. It suits travellers comfortable with long road journeys, simple facilities in remote areas, and changing mountain conditions. Flights, road access, accommodation and the tight return schedule must be confirmed before booking.

Why Is Chapursan Valley Worth Visiting?

Chapursan Valley offers a different experience from Hunza’s more familiar tourist areas. Its remote location, Wakhi communities, mountain scenery, and spiritual heritage appeal to travellers who want to explore beyond Karimabad, Attabad Lake, and Passu.

A visit to Baba Ghundi Shrine adds a cultural dimension to the journey. The shrine is an important place for local spiritual traditions, while the surrounding villages provide opportunities to learn about life in a remote mountain region.

Baba Gundi, born Muhammad Baqar, was an Ismaili Muslim saint who traveled from Afghanistan to Hunza’s Chapursan Valley to spread Islam. Believed to have originated from the Ghund region of Afghanistan, he is said to have passed away in the Chupursan Valley, where he was laid to rest. The local community honored his legacy by constructing a tomb, reflecting their deep respect for his role in promoting Islam in the area. Baba Gundi is revered for his miraculous deeds, including a tale of sin and retribution performed in the valley, which has become an important element of local folklore and pilgrimage.

For travellers interested in culture, photography and adventure, Chupursan offers a chance to see a quieter side of Gilgit-Baltistan. Visiting respectfully and supporting local accommodation providers can also help local communities benefit from tourism. The tour is best suited to travellers comfortable with long drives, changing mountain conditions and a flexible schedule.
