Katpana Desert Tour Plan
Pickup from Islamabad, Drive towards Chilas
Day 01: Depart from Islamabad at 7 AM and head towards Chilas via the motorway, Besham, and the Karakoram Highway. Expect to reach Chilas in 12 to 13 hours, then check into either the Shangrila Chilas Hotel or the Panorama Hotel.
Reach Skardu After Long Drive
Day 2: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then travel to Skardu via the Karakoram Highway and Jaglot-Skardu Road along the Indus River. Expect to reach Skardu in 7 to 9 hours. Check into either the K2 Paradise Hotel or Summit Hotel.
Visit Shangrila, Upper Kachura Lake
Day 3: Enjoy breakfast, then visit Shangrila Lake and Upper Kachura Lake for a full-day excursion. Return to K2 Paradise or Summit Hotel in the evening.
Explore Katpana Desert & Lake
Day 04: After breakfast, visit Katpana Desert and spend some time at Katpana Lake. Then, visit the Skardu market before returning to K2 Paradise or Summit Hotel.
Scenic Drive on KKH (Karakorum Highway)
Day 05: Have breakfast and travel to Chilas via Jaglot Skardu Road and the Karakoram Highway, arriving by evening at Hotel Shangrila Chilas or Panorama Hotel.
Back to Islamabad – End of Tour
Day 6: Today is last leg of our journey and we shall move towards Islamabad Via KKH and Motorway
