Pakistan and India have not been good neighbours for decades and tensions has been mountings for years due to one big solid reason of Kashmir. Pakistan and India both think Kashmir been there most important region because of its geographical position. India has occupied Kashmir since 1947 and Pakistan claims Kashmir as unresolved entity of Independence. Kashmir has been major factor in Wars between India and Pakistan. Wars have devastated the region which has populations touching near 2 Billion and huge resources have been allocated for weapons of mass destructions and Army on each side. Pakistan and India have been involved in three major Wars such as 1965, 1971 War and 1999 War though all fights have been restricted to few days but effects have been major. Pakistan lost its half part in 1971 which is now called Bangladesh.
Over last few years tourism has prospered in Azad kashmir Neelum Valley by leaps and bounds and biggest factor has been cease fire between India Pakistan conducted in 2004 by President Musharraf Regime. It provided great respite for local community to develop and harvest the splendours of beauty hidden in Neelum Valley Azad Kashmir and people on other side of Border in Indian held Kashmir also got benefitted as Tourism facilities improved and tourists had been flocking in great numbers.
Once Again the situations has worsen as Indian forces opened fire on early Nights as on 29 September 2016 in LOC Kel and Nakkiyal Sectors respectively and claimed that they saw some suspicious activities and opened fire but PAK Army refutes the charges and claims that Indian Forces opened fire and violated Cease fire accord. PAK Army has claimed that 2 Soldiers from Pakistan have embraced martyrdom and 14 Indians have been killed. These all developments have made local life strife and people on both sides of LOC are suffering big time and tourism activities have halted. kel, Arrang Kel, Ratti Galli, Dowariyan, Taobutt Valley, Saral Lake, Hans Raj Lake and Kutton Jaggran were the places that had been visited by millions of visitors in recent few months now this activity has been halted due to border tension between Pakistan and India. Pakistani Prime Minister has given stern response to Indian Prime minister Modi who has been bashing Pakistani Government for last 2 Years non stop. These all saga unfortunatly means tourism shall suffer more and more in near future until things are back to Normal. Hotel Industry, Food industry and Transportation sectors are suffering huge losses from last 2 Weeks and trend is likely to prevail in future few more weeks as well.
