You are thinking about adventure tours and beyond the jeep. This is a good start. Now the hard part begins: deciding which jeep is best for an adventurous tour.
We don’t want to tell you, but no Jeep is the best for an adventurous tour. This is because the correct answer depends on you, your budget, your area, the frequency and time of your road trips. However, we do have some suggestions to help you choose the best jeep to beat you.
From the Willis Jeep in the 1940s to the Grand Wagoneers in the 1980s, Jeep has a long history of making 4×4 cars that can make excellent road cars. However, we do not like to recommend a 15-year-old jeep as a land excavator. This is due to a variety of reasons, including reliability, safety, parts availability, and after-sales parts support.
From 2005 to 2020, there are many great jeeps to choose from, including the two-generation Wrangler and the updated GK and GL, the two-generation Grand Cherokee, WK and WK2, and the new GT Gladiator. The Wrangler, Gladiator, and Grand Cherokee all make excellent jeeps on land.
Let’s take a look at our choice of the jeep that makes most of the adventure more exciting. So get started:
From 2007 to 2012, the JK Wrangler was probably the most popular Adventure tour Jeep. This is because they have incredible capabilities outside the showroom and have a lot of after-sales support.
The Wrangler was first designed for off-road driving. This means you don’t need to constantly adjust it for long trips away from the grid; they can handle the lanes out of the box.
Like every Wrangler before, JK has solid hubs on the front and rear. The upgraded Rubicon model includes a factory-locking differential, which contributes to its capabilities. You can find it through automatic and manual gearboxes.
The early JK was powered by a 3.8-litre V6, powered by a six-speed automatic transmission or a four-speed manual transmission. The 2012 model year brought 3.6 litres of Pentastar V6, which still powers the Wrangler to this day. From 2012 to 2017, Pentastar was powered by a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic. If you can afford it, we definitely recommend 2012 and JK because of Pentastar V6.
Whether you choose a JK two-door model or a JKU four-door model, you will have multiple options to equip your Jeep with an adventure tour.
Exaggeration is about self-sufficiency. Nothing makes you self-sufficient more than the lever of personal recovery. We like the 8000 lb rating and synthetic rope of the WARN ZEON 8-S winch.
You must protect the front part of your jeep. You can also get a bumper to protect the grille and allow the installation of winches and additional driving lights, just like the ARB luxury front bullpen bumper. In case you didn’t know, the ARB brand is a tried-and-tested and highly regarded Australian brand, known for its manufacturing quality and durability.
In 2018, Jeep launched the new Wrangler JL. This is the current generation of Wranglers. Like the previous JK, JL is equipped with a 285 horsepower Pentastar V6. However, buyers can now choose a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 engine and a new hybrid version called Wrangler 4xe.
JL is a big step forward for the Wrangler. It includes more luxury interior options, more technology (in terms of safety, infotainment), and improved performance due to the new eight-speed automatic transmission and upgraded off-road system. For example, the new Rubicon includes Off-Road + functionality.
JK defeated the Wrangler JL, but frankly, the four-door JLU has replaced JK as the preferred Adventure tour Jeep because it is more suitable for everyday life, but at the same time has a huge after-sales support system. This means you can get a better, newer, more powerful Wrangler, and have the same amount of equipment to choose from.
Starting from the Wrangler series, the new Gladiator debuted with the JT chassis code. It is based on the JL style, but adds the long-awaited pickup truck bed at the rear and improves basic towing capacity. For example, JL can only drag up to 3,500 pounds. In contrast, JT can tow up to 7,500 pounds.
As many land vehicles load equipment on their rigs and then tow adventure trailers, the truck’s trunk and towing capacity have more than doubled, adding many benefits to the already attractive JL. Like JL, JT uses Pentastar V6 or EcoDiesel V6, which can generate 442 pound-feet of torque.
The wheelbase of the Gladiator is longer than that of the Wrangler, which makes its starting angle less than ideal and makes it more difficult to use off-road. However, if you don’t like off-roading, Gladiator should be very capable despite engineering setbacks.
As a Wrangler (kind of), because it is a pickup truck, the Gladiator JT has many great options for ground equipment.
Grand Cherokee WK ran from 2005 to 2010. This generation of Grand Cherokee cancelled the solid axle suspension of previous generations and replaced it with an independent front suspension. This greatly improves the ride quality. This is done because it is based on the previous generation Mercedes-Benz ML-class SUV.
Regardless of its Teutonic origin, this Grand Cherokee is all about Jeep. What we mean is that it is capable of off-road driving. But because it is a Grand Cherokee, it is also very comfortable. The Grand Cherokee is very suitable for gravel roads, which Jeep calls “Overland”, so there is no doubt whether WK can handle Pakistan adventure tours.
It is equipped with a series of different engines, from V6 to V8, most vehicles have a WK. Note the annoying rear-wheel-drive model. Unless you are really bold and think you can drive a two-wheel-drive truck, you will want to make sure you choose an old 4WD model.
Gibb realized that she had some good things on WK’s hands. Therefore, the brand only increased packaging through improvements to the interior, powertrain, technology and functions, and created WK2. As written, WK2 is the current generation of Grand Cherokee, from 2011 to the present.
Like the Wrangler JL, WK2 is equipped with a series of excellent engines, including Pentastar V6, EcoDiesel V6, Hemi V8 and even Hellcat V8. However, we do not recommend that your ground vehicles use the Hellcat 707-horsepower Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.
If you have purchased a Grand Cherokee for the adventure tour, we recommend that you purchase a Quadra-Drive II 4×4 system with an electronic limited-slip rear differential. This is a more powerful version of the Jeep all-wheel-drive system used in the Grand Cherokee, so it is your best choice when dealing with stagnant water and trails.
Please note that although the Grand Cherokee can become a mid-size SUV, it is not as powerful as the Wrangler. He definitely exchanged his off-road ability for off-road driving. However, if you prefer leisure, WK or WK2 may be a good choice.
As we discussed in the Grand Cherokee WK2, expressing your adventure tour wishes realistically and honestly as early as possible is the key. If you are going on an Adventure tour along dirt roads and steeper trails, you don’t actually need a Wrangler or Gladiator.
For this reason, if you just want to get a new jeep every two years, does it make sense to mark on new cars? Maybe not.
In the end, you want a ride that can take you anywhere. For an adventure trip, you must go for the Jeep Wrangler. I hope you like the list of top Jeep Models 2021. Tell us what you would choose for your next adventure.
