To promote tourism in Pakistan, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is taking an initiative by starting a special light operation on weekend and special holiday from the big cities like Lahore, Karachi to the most beautiful region of northern side Skardu and Gilgit.
This decision was taken on Thursday by the Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan and Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Dr. Kazim Niaz to offer a special flight service. Some of the major officials also attend the meeting with them notably Secretary Finance Gilgit Baltistan and high officials of Aviation.
To promote the wonder land within Pakistan, the picturesque of Gilgit Baltistan, the dawn and dusk on magnificent peaks; it was a joint effort between the Regional Tourism department and PIA, it was all said in Press release later on Thursday.
Moreover that the meeting also decided to form affordable package line for the tourist along with the flight schedule that will be arrange on weekend and holidays, and this assembling will be done between the Commercial Department of PIA and Tourism Department of GB.
Furthermore Advisor to Prime Minister on aviation Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan shared that the flight operation no only promote tourism and will be beneficial for tourist but also profitable for the Cargo Service of PIA to transfer many rare fruits and dry fruits to other parts of Pakistan.
The decision will surely give courage to the local industry of northern areas. Special flight operation is an asset for economy and with that it will also promote the brighter and positive image of Pakistan through their culture and history among the tourist. The officials also assure to take every possible measurement to tourism activities on northern areas.
